Who knew that Stockholm, Sweden had such a burgeoning pop scene? Ok, the people at turnthepage did… about a year ago.
The Shout Out Louds are another band I’ve come across recently who also happens to be a member of the Swedish pop club. The Shout Out Louds illustrate what happens when The Cure meet Echo and the Bunnymen and they invite New Order over for dinner (which isn’t really a stretch, because those three bands all live in the same condo, anyway).
Listen to “Tonight I Have To Leave It,” and see what bands come to mind. When our search engine is up and running, I’m confident entering this song in our NewTunes search engine will serve up nothing but Cure, Echo and other 80s alt-pop offerings (which isn’t a bad thing).
I’ve been to Stockholm, and it’s not THAT big a place. So, no surprise that Kleerup (who I wrote about yesterday) was asked to create his own remix for “Tonight I Have To Leave It.” You can hear that on the Shout Out Louds MySpace page.
