It’s Friday – new movie release day – so let’s switch gears a bit and talk film…
In 2008, when a film comes out, we’ve already read multiple reviews, and we all have the power to write our own after we’ve seen it (could link to hundreds of sites from Facebook to everyone’s own personal blog).
But someone had to write the first movie review ever, right? Here’s as close as I’ve seen. This review is by Maxim Gorky, with credit to the following train: Jason Kottke –> Timothy McSweeney –> Walter Murch –> Maxim Gorky.
Here was Gorky’s suggestion for a film… “For instance: to impale a fashionable parasite upon a picket fence, as is the way of the Turks, photograph him, then show it.”
