Jim (the developer who’s happy where he is) just sent over the news that the schedule for Lollapalooza, Aug 1-3 in Chicago, has been finalized.
The big news out of this year’s lineup is that Gogol Bordello will be at the AT&T stage at 4:15 on Friday.
Yes, the sounds of gypsy punk are coming to the Windy City… and not a moment too soon.
In a time where everyone who wants to be a musician gets to be one, it’s harder than ever to stand out or have a sound all your own. Gogol Bordello has this to burn.
Never before have the sounds of theology, drinking, punk, gypsy-inspired rhythms and fashion been so successfully blended. Check out the song “Super Theory of Super” to hear their ideas on the bible. The song practically insists you enjoy a beer at the same time.
[explicit music warning: not office friendly]
Here’s “Start Wearing Purple,” which Jim and I both agreed was the best of the MySpace site offerings.
And you should check out “American Wedding,” as well. I know most music blogs try to critic or comment on what they’re sharing. But this band speaks entirely for itself. Enjoy.
