crappy week for CDs (at least it brought me closer to Fiona Apple)

Well, for the digital download age, I sure have lost a lot of expensive CDs this week.

First, there was the well-documented Dollar debacle.

Then today, I left my reissue, two-disc copy of Elvis Costello’s Imperial Bedroom – arguably one of the best full albums every pressed – on top of my wife’s car. It was found eight hours later shattered in the street in front of my house.

Amazon? Just put another $30 on my tab, please. Dammit.

Here’s “Shabby Doll” – one of the many great songs to come from Imperial Bedroom. This is a performance I was not aware of with Fiona Apple. So I guess seeing this was something good that came of it.

Dammit.
