As we head into the holiday weekend, take a minute to check out Jim Noir.
Jim Noir (who’s real name is Alan Roberts) adds a bit of happy light-heartedness to otherwise standard, 2008 psychedelic rock.
Check out “My Patch,” and you’ll hear a blend of The Beach Boys with Band of Bees.
The videos aren’t anything to mind-blowing, but Noir does have an excellent fashion sense. Jim Noir also plays every instrument on his recordings, making him one of my favorite kinds of musicians.
“In the Key of C” is another Noir song with a carnival like atmosphere to it. Very 60s British pop-sounding, but with a modern beat track. Hope you find his music to be a good soundtrack for your long weekend.

What’s that strange sounding instrument on My Patch? Harmonium?
