0 days since our last industrial accident

Looks like we have to change the sign outside of the NewTunes office.

It seems Joe was running a script on his MacBook Pro to import some song files last night when he fell asleep with the laptop in his… well, lap, and his hand leaning against the machine. Because it (the machine, not his hand) was running a script, the heat from the machine burned his hand.

We were at 131 days, prior to this accident, too. Joe is being sent to Mac user classes, and we’re all hopeful we can extend the streak past 131 days.

Well, you have to hand it to him, he’s really burning the midnight oil, working his fingers to the bone, and really in the hot seat at work.

My macbook gets really hot too, and I don’t even run scripts. It’s just old, and I don’t think it took smashing into concrete two years ago so well. Also, I have ā€” when working on my thesis ā€” run it for literally 12-18 hours a day for sometimes week-long stretches. I became aware early on about multitasking so it didn’t explode or light on fire.

I think it might be time for a new one…
