Ever since I was at madison.com, there have been several groups and individuals – the folks at the Majestic, Tag Evers, Dane101 (and even ourselves, for awhile there) – who were trying to ignite a Madison version of SXSW (a mid-by-midwest, if you will).
After more than a year, it appears the details, relationships, logistics and, most importantly, the bands have been hashed out. The first ads have appeared in publications like The Onion and the event is on.
The event was announced on June 18, and is dedicated to assembling “… national acts with roots in the Midwest and molding local and regional talent onto existing bills.”
Neko Case appears to be the biggest name with Bob Mould and Killdozer also headlining, but here’s the poster with all the information…
Kudos to all involved. What extremely little I was able to witness was difficult enough. I’m sure it was tough going for all, but we appreciate all of your hardwork and are excited for the event. And for only $25! That’s a great price for that much music.
Well… don’t just sit there… get your tickets here.
