you don’t normally see a violinist thrash around like that – man down medic

The most noteworthy music find of the weekend was Man Down Medic.

Born in the Seattle-area, two brothers (Jacob and Samuel) and their sister Larissa, along with two friends, take their self-described electro-pop public with the recent release of their first EP.

The “single” off it (which is also the first song I heard of theirs) is called “Extra Extra” and has a solid hook to the chorus.

The thing I like most about the band is the mix classical elements (not just that they have a violinist/celloist) within every song to the more rock-like feel of the drums and guitars. All with a solid alt-rock styled vocalist on top.

And here’s “Convenient.” A little mellower in development, but it features the vocals a bit more…
